Business Academy:
In 10th grade, I went to a Business Academy that taught me the details of starting and running a business. Throughout this course, I created a company and presented the sales predictions, income statement, MOST grid, and the main analysis to a board of businessmen and women. You can view our presentation below:
Summary:
During this academy, I learned a lot about business and how to estimate statistics. But most importantly, I understood how much it took to run one and how to manage people. When you get in a group with 2 other people and decide on a company, you have to give your business an identity. For example, when we decided on the company E-Zoom we had to create a logo and slogan to create an identity for our business. After creating that identity we had to estimate our sales so the board could judge the potential of our company. However, we can't just make predictions out of nowhere, we have to justify each and every one. An example of this is the sales predictions that we had. The predicted sales during December and August were much higher than the rest because those months had Christmas and the start of school, where people would buy much more gifts for each other. In conclusion, this academy taught me the basics of business and gave me enough information to take my first professional step in the field.
